Going Barefoot

After extreme difficulty in obtaining a farrier (Seems when you mention Clydesdale everyone has a bad back). and with many foot problems we were introduced to natural horsemanship and barefoot trimming.

Going barefoot has overcome all the problems we have experienced to date and has seen an improvement not only in comfort but also in temperament and cooperation from both animals and handlers.

The photo above on the left was taken after the hooves were cleaned up from the previous shoeing, you can see the state they are in.

The photo on the right of the same horse opposit side, shows the difference in fecundity after three light barefoot trims.
A couple more trims and the feet will be balanced and tough enough to handle their workload without the need for 1kg steel  shoes fastened
on with 10 X 50mm nails driven through their anatomy.
